Question...

On the forum main page at the bottom it says '1 bot' - now as I know it bots are supposedly human controlled characters in games that are really controlled by a computer, or a program designed to monitor a webpage and automatically ban members that are inactive, spam, uses certain keywords (like swears) and so on. But both of these do not seem to apply to the 'bot' here. So I was wondering what exactly is this bot and what does it do

Edit: I looked closer at it and saw google listed at the bots, but that still does not explain anything...

i dont know too but maybe they are searchers or people coming to publish some pages from here to google

no bots are AI controlled so it can't be someone doing that..

The bot is google's bot named crawler, which 'crawl' to websites (even here) to then update the data on googlebot. The data from the googlebot will then be uploaded when someone search for LFCG/tags.

But then what about the other search engines such as Yahoo or Ask.com? Don't they come here too?

idk. some search engines use google's database and is subscribed under google but others which did not use, maybe we need to submit the website's information for them to then be available when searched
